We had the final of the Ivan Drabble cup last Sunday with Mick Risely and Radoslaw Moszczynski battling to get their name on the famous Ivan Drabble trophy, and of course the £300 prize money After an extremely close match Michael Riseley clinched the win in a decider 4-3. Thank you both for giving us such a great final and commiserations to Radek . It was a shame one man had to lose as great sportsmanship was shown through out. Mick last won back in 2006 and was a worthy winner 18 years later
Im sure all of the Pockets members are with us when we wish you all the best luck as you head to Q school 2023 this week First match Thursday 26th May

CONGRATULATIONS SIMON CHANDLER WINNER OF THE VIC HARRIS DIVISION 2 SINGLES
Pockets B became the first 2nd division team ever to win the Vic Harris league cup final Fabulous achievement. Well done Captain Martin Slatford for creating this amazing team
I would like to add a special big up up the Captain Martin Slatford. Who in my opinion is the best captain of a snooker team any one could ask for. He manages to keep a large number of regular team players very happy and enthusiastic with very little problems. He is fantastic at picking the correct player each week to get their best performance at the right times. Creating the amazing results he has achieved over 12 years. Whilst keeping a very strong team moral. This is a special gift to have. Martin also took over our Monday team in the 2nd division Vic Harris mid season as it was looking like folding and managed to turn it all around, build up great team spirit. Bring in new players and achieve 2nd in the very good standard Vic Harris league. Pockets are very lucky to have him at Pockets. Although Martin has grabbed the glory as a Pockets captain this year and truly deserved. I would like to thank all our Captains of our league team for keeping Competition Snooker, Darts and Pool alive. It is a very hard job and we really appreciate you all for representing pockets. We are a very proud and happy club. Thank you Phil. Amber and Matt and our amazing team of people that work with Pockets
Pockets snooker club currently has 5 Wednesday night league teams playing across two local leagues (Thameside and Southend). After a couple of years of disruption because of Covid the new 2021-22 was eagerly anticipated. All of our teams had some great performances during the season with one of our teams (Pockets T) run and captained by Martin Slatford going on to win the Thameside league division one title As well as winning the Knock out Johnson Cup. Pockets T were the first team in TSL history to achieve this feat. Pockets T have now won 4 league titles and been runner up 5 times in the last 12 years making them the most successful team in the Thameside league over the last decade. Pockets A from the Southend league were a very close 2nd in the league with a knife edge finish only just missing the top spot on the last night of the league. Well done all the players and Simon who is a great captain of the team. Well done to the whole team and all our teams (captains and players). Here wishing the clubs success continues over the coming seasons Please see the next blog for a special big up to Martin Slatford captain of Pockets T and VHSL pockets B

Good week and experience for Matt in the WSF last week. Last 64 in the world of amateur snooker. Although not the result he wanted is still very good. Roll on many more great results to come. Watch this space
Having felt a bit undignified being carried in. She soon settled in behind the bar for a quick half. Kept an eye on the pool table and Darts and enjoyed spin on the bandit.
It’s amazing how one random night out at the FAIRHAVENS HARES ABOUT TOWN AUCTION has put us in such a happy mood. Having won the bid on the actual hare we wanted for Pockets Snooker Club and donating £4,400 to fairhavens who care for so many friends and family with cancer.
